Book Review: Safe Haven

Hello there, hope your all well :D

Yes, it’s another books review. And No, there won’t be any more of them for the next couple of months. That’s because my final exams are starting next week and I’m focusing more on school things. There will also be less of blogging for me, for the same reason. moving on….

I finished this book two days ago and I fell in love with it. I wanted to read it before watching the movie as I am one of those people who prefers reading the book before watching the movie. This was my second Nicholas Sparks read, the first was ‘The Best Of Me’, I’ve seen 3 of the movie adaptations of his books which are ‘The notebook’ of course, ‘dear john’ and I watched ‘A walk to remember’ last night. I look forward to reading more of his books and watching the rest of the movie adaptations.

So let’s start with this review and try to make it as spoiler-free as possible. ‘Safe Haven’ is one of those books that captivated the reader’s attention right from the first pages. It’s full of secrets about the past that leaves the reader want to find out more and learn more about the characters and the events. It’s about two characters that fall in love (it’s a Nicholas sparks book, if you didn’t see that coming, then I have nothing to tell you) Katie moves to a place where she doesn’t know anyone, she tries to keep a low profile. However, she moved into a very small area where everybody knows one another. She later becomes friends with her neighbor Jo, and the shop owner, who is a widowed man with two kids. (if I say more about the book, this review will be full of spoilers so let’s just move on to discussing the characters).

I already watched the movie trailer before reading the book, so I knew how the characters will look. Katie’s character is full of secrets about her pasts, I think she’s a strong character for reaching to this point in life, not everybody can do what she did. Alex, is a strong character as well, he is a widowed man with two kids and he tries as much as he can to make his kids happy after the mother dies (this is not a spoiler, she’s dead from the beginning of the story).

Overall, this book deserves 5 stars out of 5. It’s one of those books that makes you want to know what’s gonna happen next, and what secrets are going to be revealed.

Leave a comment telling me about your favorite Nickolas Sparks books/movies.

See you soon x

Book Review: The Fault in Our Stars

Hello there, hope your all well :D

I read this book about a week ago, and OH MY GOD you guys. AMAZING!! BREATH-TAKING!! Just a heads up, I’ve never written a book review before. But I do talk about the books I read with my friends soooometimesss. I really wanted to write a book review about the fault in our stars because I just couldn’t hold my thoughts any longer.

let’s start off with the synopsis: Hazel, a 16 year old girl diagnosed with lung cancer when she was about 13 years old, she has to carry an oxygen tank wherever she goes. Hazel’s mother wants her to go to a support group where cancer kids come together and talk about themselves and their story. She meets this guy named Augustus who lost a leg because of cancer and their paths cross and things happen and I can’t say more because it’s gonna becomes full of spoilers which I unfair to all those who didn’t read this book yet.

Okay moving on to the characters:

-          Hazel: Her character is very realistic and down to earth. She’s very simple and I really liked her character.

-          Augustus: he is an amazing character, I fell in love with him. There is something different about Augustus’s character.

This book brought tears down my face ,and by tears I mean RAIN!!Not just because the characters were diagnosed with cancer, the ending was just so sad that I could hold my tears any more.

There was this part where they are in a museum and it’s full of pictures of people who died after war, or did something good for their country and how people will always remember them. And Augustus tells Hazel that if they die, no one will remember them, they will be just two kids who died from cancer like any other person who died for the same reason. and this really made me sad, because it’s totally true. Although they are the people fighting the hardest battle, Yet they’re not remembered. Which was one of the reasons the tears thing happened.

This book deserves : 5 stars out of 5

leave your thoughts down in the comments section if you’ve read this book. If you haven’t go buy one ASAP and read. (ps. I can lend you my copy) Or you can just tell me about a book you read and loved.

See you soon x
